Brevity is the Soul of Lingerie

Lingerie, Embracing Your Femininity

At the request of a friend, I’ve decided to dedicate a post to lingerie. Just a side note real quick, why do Anglo-Saxons pronounce it as though it’s spelled “lingerayyy”, it clearly ends in “ie” (pronounced like lingereeeee). When I got here and said it the way English speakers say it, I got that, “what are you talking about?” look from the French. So seriously, if we’re going to take their word we must at least pronounce it as they do.

Anyway, lingerie is just as important, if not more important, than outerwear. Just because you wear it underneath your clothes and not everyone sees it, does not mean you can sport granny panties and dingy looking bras. If you are properly dressed, wearing nice clothes, it only makes sense that your underwear will be just as nice.

Take Gossip Girl for example, there are many scenes where either Blair or Serena strut around wearing solely their undergarments. And wow are those undergarments fantastic. They make them look so feminine and dainty as though they should be wearing pearls and sipping cocktails all day long.

Want to look like Blair Waldorf? You don’t need to break your bank to do so. There are a lot of brands out there that make very reasonably priced and just as sexy lingerie. The piece she is wearing in this picture is actually from Victoria’s Secret. It comes with v-string panties and at a whopping price of $40. That’s doable!

Actually Victoria’s Secret has a really great collection of babydoll dresses and slips. Here are a few of my faves:

Victoria's Secret Slips(From Left: The Lacie mesh & lace babydoll, $35; Lace Appliqué Satin Slip, $48; The Lacie Slip, on sale for $24.99)

Love the last one, have I mentioned how much I adore the color red?

Feel like a goddess inside and out with these collections, perfect for every occasion 😉 …

Happy Shopping!

xoxo
